Consultation fees

Fees shown are for the consultation with Mr Vinall. X‑rays, scans, biopsies and other tests are charged separately by the hospital and will be explained before they are carried out.

Treatment costs

The cost of surgery depends on the procedure, the type of anaesthetic and whether it is done in a treatment clinic or in theatre. Once Chris has seen you and agreed a plan, the hospital will provide a fixed‑price quote covering Chris's fee, the anaesthetist's fee, the hospital charges and your follow‑up appointments. Both Spire and Nuffield offer fixed‑price packages for self‑funding patients, and Nuffield offers payment plans through a third‑party provider.

Because the total includes the hospital and the anaesthetist as well as Chris's own fee, guide prices for procedures aren't published here. The hospital's private patient team can give you an indication for a particular procedure before your consultation, and you will always have a written fixed price before anything is booked.

Private medical insurance

Chris is recognised by Bupa, Aviva, Vitality, Aetna and Healix. If you are insured, please contact your insurer before your appointment to obtain an authorisation number, as most will need a GP or dentist referral. Bring the authorisation number with you.

Cover for oral surgery varies between policies. Some insurers treat wisdom‑tooth removal and other dental surgery differently from medical treatment, so it is worth asking your insurer specifically whether the procedure is covered and whether there is an excess or shortfall you will need to pay.

Self‑funding patients

You are welcome to book a consultation without insurance and without a referral. Consultation fees are payable to the hospital on the day. If treatment is recommended, you'll receive a written quote and can take as long as you like to decide.
